Schola of the Orthodox community of Stuttgart
The Schola of the Orthodox community in Stuttgart consists mainly of a family ensemble that has been making music together since 2014. The Schola has its origins in three siblings who made music together from an early age – initially at competitions and concerts with instruments such as cello, violin, piano and trumpet. Over time, however, the focus shifted more and more to singing together, which is now at the heart of their musical activities.
Gradually, the siblings’ partners by marriage also joined in, so that the Schola has grown steadily. Its repertoire mainly comprises Orthodox sacred music: Slavic, Byzantine and Georgian chants. The Schola mainly provides music for the Orthodox church services in the parish, but can also be heard at smaller concerts and festive occasions.
