Master concertAya Hasegawa

Aya Hasegawa, born in Japan, graduated from the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, Japan, and earned her master’s degree from Boston University in the United States.
She was concertmaster of the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Japan, where she performed under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach. She took part in the Tanglewood Music Festival under the direction of Seiji Ozawa, where she received the “Henri Kohn Award” for outstanding chamber music performances, including collaborations with the pianist André Previn.
Ms. Hasegawa was concertmaster of the Hingham Symphony Orchestra in the United States before joining the Orchestre Symphonique Région Centre-Val de Loire in Tours, France. She also played in the seasons of the Orchestre de Paris and the Opéra National de Paris.
As an enthusiastic chamber musician, she has played in various chamber music ensembles. In recent years, she has performed at the Grandes Heures Musicales de Cluny, at the Festival International “En Cors et Encore” in Lisieux, France, and at the Vielklang Festival in Germany.
Aya Hasegawa has been a member of the Bedrich String Quartet since 2009. She recorded the album “Sérénades Interrompues” (Bion Records, 2016) with the quartet, which received awards from France Musique, Classica and l’Obs.
She plays a violin by Carlo Guadagnini from 1816.
