Quatuor Hermes

The brilliant career of the Quatuor Hermès takes its members on worldwide tours. The quartet is a regular guest in the United States, where it performs in prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York.

His career is characterized by a series of decisive encounters, in particular with the Ravel, Ysaÿe and Artemis Quartets, with whom the four musicians trained and developed a common musical philosophy, as well as with such outstanding personalities as Eberhard Feltz in Berlin and later Alfred Brendel, who greatly inspired them and with whom they regularly collaborate today.

The Quatuor Hermès has received numerous prestigious awards, including the “Révélation Musicale de l’Année” at the Prix de la Critique 2014-15 and the Nordmetall Ensemble Prize 2013 at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It also won first prizes at the Geneva International Competition 2011, the FNAPEC Competition 2010, the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition 2009 and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York.

The four musicians were artists in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel from 2012 to 2016. Since 2015, they have received support from the Fondation d’Entreprise Banque Populaire and the Fondation Singer-Polignac in Paris.

Her latest recording of two major works by Schubert was acclaimed by international critics and was awarded the CHOC by the French magazine Classica as well as CD of the week by Bayerischer Rundfunk BR-Klassik. They also received similar awards for their earlier recordings of the quartets by Debussy, Ravel and Dutilleux as well as the complete string quartets by Schumann.
