Harpsichord

Tung-Han Hu, born in Taiwan in 1992, began his musical training with the piano and trombone. Due to his great passion for early music, after graduating from Soochow University in Taiwan, he began his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts and studied historical performance practice and historical keyboard instruments with Prof. Mitzi Meyerson. He completed his studies with distinction. In February 2024, he completed a double degree in Harpsichord Master Class and Hammerklavier Bachelor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich under the guidance of Prof. Christine Schornsheim.
Numerous master classes with renowned harpsichordists and pianists complement his training. He has also received awards and prizes: in 2019, as co-founder of the ensemble Le Jonc Fleuri, he was awarded first prize and the audience prize at the 10th International Telemann Competition; he also received the special prize for the best basso continuo and harpsichord obbligato playing. In 2020, he received the Audience Award at the international Biagio Marini Competition with the ensemble Le Jonc Fleuri. After founding the ensemble Duo Sull’onde with soprano Mayan Goldenfeld in 2022, they became
were awarded the Bärenreiter Urtext Prize as finalists at the International Handel Competition in Göttingen. In the same year he was a finalist and winner of the Bärenreiter Urtext Prize in the XXIII. Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig. In 2024, as a member of the ensemble Interchange, he was awarded the scholarship and the special prize for new/old music from the Ensemble Academy Freiburg.
Tung-Han Hu is a passionate harpsichordist and sought-after chamber musician. His keen interest in music is reflected in his intensive collaboration with renowned musicians and artists from all over the world. Since the winter semester 2022/2023, he has held the position of harpsichord accompanist at the Institute for Early Music at Berlin University of the Arts.
