Specifically, the program takes us from the great J. S. Bach, who composed very special secular songs in addition to his sacred ones, to his rediscoverer, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. He, in turn, is a prime example of creativity in this area as well and leads the solo song to true bloom. Yes, on the occasion of his anniversary year 2009, a complete volume of previously unknown Mendelssohn songs was surprisingly published. The song recital concludes with these wonderful works, which are still rarely heard. Of course, this journey through time will also include wonderful examples of other protagonists of this genre, such as G. Ph. Telemann, C. Ph. E. Bach, J. Haydn, W. A. Mozart and F. Schubert… Mendelssohn’s “Songs without Words” form a bracket between all this, as a kind of indication of the aim of this song recital.
